ABOUT THE UGGS
Founded on August 1st, 2018 and established on September 10th, the University of Guyana Geographical Society (UGGS) is a vision of a much older society (Guyana Geographic Society). UGGS is based within the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences. The society comprises students from the Department of Geography as well as from across all faculties of the University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus.
As a professional undergraduate student body, we also make room for alumni from our society as well as from any other interested adjacent fields. As a body, we are ardent about engaging in areas such as Climate Change, Geographic Information Systems, International Relations, Geomorphology, Globalization and Education both nationally and Internationally.
We learn daily about the panoramic facets of the geographic field in our everyday life and as such we stand united on our objectives in our hope to achieve our goal of discovering and initiating change. Be Resolute!
